FAQ

How can I purchase an artwork?

Have you discovered a specific piece and would like to buy it? The process is as following:

  1. Send me an email. Get in touch at info@franziskakrauss.ch and let me know which artwork you are interested in.
  2. We clarify the details. I will check if the artwork is still available, and together we will discuss the practical details and any individual wishes you may have. Afterward, I will provide you with the final price. (Shipping within Switzerland is included in the price listed above.)
  3. I confirm the purchase. Once we agree on all the details, I will send you a written confirmation of the purchase. This will include all the information you need to make the payment.
  4. You pay for the artwork. Upon receipt of the agreed purchase amount, your payment obligation under the purchase contract is fulfilled. As soon as the payment has cleared, I will carefully prepare your artwork for handover or shipping.
  5. Your new artwork arrives. Depending on what we previously agreed upon, your artwork will be shipped to the specified address, handed over personally, or can be picked up by you at my studio.

Can I see an artwork in person before purchasing?

Absolutely. If you have the opportunity to visit my studio, I would love to show you my work in person. Over a cup of coffee or a local gazosa, we can chat about the painting, its creation, and your vision.

Studio visits are available by prior appointment. info@franziskakrauss.ch

How will my artwork be shipped?

Every piece is packed carefully and securely for transit.

The purchase price includes shipping costs within Switzerland.

Alternatively, you can pick up your artwork personally at my studio by appointment.

What happens if my artwork is damaged during shipping?

Please inspect the package as soon as possible after receipt. If the artwork arrives damaged, please contact me directly and keep all packaging material. Photos of the packaging and the damage will help me resolve the matter. Together, we will find an appropriate solution.

Can I pick up an artwork in person?

Yes. Studio pickups are possible by prior appointment.

Is international shipping available?

Yes, generally it is.

Because I ship my artworks with individual care, I arrange international sales and deliveries with you personally. Shipping costs, as well as any import duties, customs fees, and other expenses in the destination country, will be clarified individually before the purchase is finalized.

Are all your paintings originals?

Yes. The paintings offered on my website are handmade originals. Each piece is a unique artwork created entirely by me.

What do I receive with my artwork?

With every original, you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity confirming the genuineness of the artwork.

The artwork will be carefully prepared for handover or shipping. If we meet for a personal handover, I am also happy to help with any questions regarding hanging the piece.

Are the artworks framed?

Most of my artworks are offered unframed. This allows you to decide how you would like to present the piece in your home.

For certain artworks, a frame may be part of a special offer or can be provided upon request. If a piece is sold including a frame, this will be explicitly stated in the description of that work.

If you would like a recommendation for the right framing, I am more than happy to advise you.

What should I keep in mind regarding care?

Oil paintings generally require very little maintenance.

You can gently remove dust with a soft, dry brush. Avoid applying cleaning agents or water directly to the painted surface.

Whenever possible, protect the piece from direct, prolonged sunlight, as well as from severe fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

For framed works under acrylic or glass, never spray cleaning agents directly onto the pane. Instead, apply it to a soft cloth and use that to clean the glass.

If you have questions about caring for a specific artwork, feel free to reach out to me anytime.

Why might a painting look different on my screen than in reality?

Every screen reproduces colors slightly differently. Lighting conditions and surface textures also affect how a painting is perceived.

Therefore, a digital image can only capture an original artwork to a certain extent.

In my work specifically, light, surface texture, and color interaction play a major role. If you are unsure about a particular piece, I am happy to send you additional photos or discuss it with you personally.

What does it mean to be in the Patrons Circle?

When you purchase one of my originals, you become part of my Patrons Circle. As a Patron of the Arts, you will get early access to new series and paintings before I share them with my newsletter list or offer them publicly on social media.

You will receive more information about the Patrons Circle and its specific benefits directly from me after your purchase.

Can I stay updated on new work if I don't own a painting yet?

Yes. You can sign up for my Collectors List at any time. There, you will hear about new series and releases before I post them on social media. Delivered conveniently straight to your inbox: no algorithm, no social media required.

Am I allowed to photograph and share a purchased painting?

Of course. You are welcome to photograph your new artwork and share it privately or on social media.

However, the copyright to the artwork remains entirely with me. This means, in particular, that the work may not be reproduced, used commercially, or used as a basis for your own products without my consent. I retain the right to continue using images of my work for fine art prints, publications, exhibitions, my website, and social media even after it has been sold.
